PEOPLE AND RISK
CULTURE - RISK - LEADERSHIP
The Embracing Risk Framework
Broadly, the Embracing Risk framework provides a more meaningful way for people and organisations to interact with risk.
More specifically, the framework provides a scaffold that helps organisations tackle safety and risk through a specific focus on people, by building cultural maturity.
It is not a safety solution, or a distinct safety approach or philosophy. However, the framework does accommodate a variety of existing safety approaches (both traditional and contemporary), and is built on a number of well established (although not necessarily directly associated with safety) organisational and cultural concepts and models.
Finally, focussing on cultural maturity requires that organisations already have a solid foundation of safety management in place (including well established hazard management, and embedded mature safety systems), and that leaders are specifically seeking a people focussed approach to improving safety outcomes.
